Scoring and Rankings Configuration

Before starting, make sure that you have read and met all the requirements presented in the Introduction chapter, especially in the Administration Information and Requirements subchapter.

1. Where to start

In the sidebar, with your competition selected, click "Administration".

If you don't see this in the sidebar, it might be because you're not a manager for this competition.
Learn how to become a manager of an organization.

  1. Make sure you are in the Scoring & Rankings Config tab at the top of the page.

In this tab, you can configure your competition by enabling or disabling the available options.

2. Display options

In this section, you can configure how rankings are displayed in live results:

2.1 Show sublevels together with full level name

When enabled, sublevels (e.g., FIG Level 1A, 1B) will be displayed alongside the full level name for clarity.

Note: This option is only visible if the competition already has sublevels created. Learn how to split levels into sublevels.

3. Scoring Configuration

The following options control how judges can submit and manage scores during the competition.

3.1 Can the scores be randomly generated

Enable this option if managers with the appropriate permissions should be able to generate random scores on the Head Judge screen.

Note: This feature is intended for testing purposes only.

3.2 Can judges adjust their scores on submit

This option allows the judges (AJ, EJ and DJ) to be able to adjust their scores on submit.
If this option is disabled, the dialog will not appear, and the score will be submitted immediately after the judge clicks on the submit button.

3.3 Can the head judge adjust the judges' scores

Enable this option to allow the Head Judge to manually adjust the judges’ scores.

Learn how to modify judges' scores during scoring.

3.4 Can the head judge navigate exercises even if the score is incomplete

Enable this option if the Head Judge should be able to move between exercises even when the score for the current exercise is incomplete.

Learn how the Head Judge navigates between exercises.

3.5 Can judges resubmit their scores to the head judge before the score has been approved

Allows judges to modify and resend their scores to the head judge as long as the head judge has not yet approved the score.

The head judge receives a notification and can also see the resubmitted scores pop up/animate in the interface, making it clear which scores have changed.

3.6 Enable "open missing scores" by default

When this option is enabled, the head judge also sees the missing inputs from other judges and can enter or adjust those scores directly.

Learn how to enter missing scores on behalf of judges

4. Ranking Configuration

4.1 Automatically calculate qualified participants for qualifying rankings

This option will allow you to configure which rankings are used to qualify participants for the following competition phases.

4.1.a Creating a qualifying ranking configuration

To create a configuration:

  1. Click the Add button in the top-left corner of the table.
  2. A popup window will open where you can configure the settings.

Here you can select the competition phase and exercise (or All Around) of the ranking you want to set as a qualifying ranking.

You can also select a category and/or level, or choose All Categories or All Levels if you do not want to specify these values.

  1. Next, select the target competition phase.

4.1.b Selecting the number of qualified participants

We'll use this value to access the number of participants and possibly reserves set in the "Levels" tab for the selected target competition phase as explained here.

These numbers will be used to calculate which participants qualify and which become reserves for the next round.

For international competitions, where participants are registered per country instead of per club, you can also define a maximum number of qualifying participants per country.

4.1.c Editing or deleting a qualifying ranking configuration

To edit a configuration:

  1. Click the Edit button on the row of the configuration.
  2. Modify the fields in the popup.

If this popup shows after editing

and you click "OK", you will have to go to the dashboard after saving the competition configuration and click the button to recalculate all the rankings.

To recalculate rankings:

To delete a configuration:

  1. Click the Delete button on the corresponding row.

4.2 Hide rankings from the public

This section allows you to hide specific rankings from the public view.

4.2.a Creating a hidden ranking configuration

To create a hidden ranking:

  1. Click the Add button in the top-left corner of the table.
  2. A popup window will open.

In the popup, select the specifications for the rankings you want to hide.

In addition to the individual options for each specification, there are two group options:

  • All Options Combined: selects a normal all-around ranking or a created combined ranking that combines all the current specification options.

    • For Exercise Type and Pass specifications, this selects an all-around ranking.
    • For other specifications, this selects a combined ranking created for that specification. If this option is missing, it means you haven’t created a combined ranking that groups all of the current specification options.
  • Any Option: selects all available options for the current specification, including:

    • Individual rankings;
    • All-around rankings;
    • Any created combined rankings.

After selecting the desired specifications, click OK to add the hidden ranking configuration.

4.2.b Further configuration of hidden rankings

After creating a hidden ranking configuration, you can also prevent the selected rankings from being created.

If you do not need those rankings:

  • Enable the Don't Create Ranking option. The Hide ranking from the public column confirms that the ranking is hidden from the public and should normally remain enabled.

4.2.c Editing or deleting a hidden ranking configuration

To edit a configuration:

  1. Click the Edit button on the corresponding row.
  2. Modify the fields in the popup.

To delete a configuration:

  1. Click the Delete button on the corresponding row.

4.2.d Hidden Ranking Configuration Example

The following example prevents the creation of all normal rankings, including all around rankings.
As a result:

  • Only the combined rankings configured for the competition will be created and used.

In a competition with the FIG Levels, if you create a hidden ranking and select the FIG Levels, all normal rankings will be hidden.
However, the combined ranking won't be hidden because the All Levels Combined option (referring to the combined ranking) is not selected.

Since the Don't Create Ranking option is selected in this case, none of the normal rankings will be created, in addition to being hidden.

5. Competition Flow Settings

5.1 Start/Stop Timer

This option can be found under Configuration per Zone for each competition zone.

Enable this option if the competition zone should use the Start/Stop exercise timer workflow.

Head Judge scoring screen with Start/Stop Timer enabled vs disabled:

When enabled:

  • The Head Judge can use the Start/Stop exercise button on the scoring screen;
  • Starting the timer changes the exercise state to Performing;
  • Stopping the timer changes the exercise state to Waiting for Score;
  • The exercise status is updated on the Live Starting Order and is also visible in the Schedule and Display Controller.

If Start/Stop Timer is not enabled in a zone, this synchronization behavior may not work as intended across multiple zones.
