Local server app setup (Windows & Mac)

A shared procedure, used only when an audience page selects "Acro Companion local competition server" It installs a small app that runs on a venue laptop and serves video clips over local Wi-Fi.

Download the Mac or Windows version, then paste the generated URL into the Local Server Url field.

1. Windows

1. Click Windows → on the page that opens, click Download.

   

2. If Google displays a warning that it cannot scan the file, click Download anyway.

   

3. Open the downloaded file. If Microsoft Defender SmartScreen appears, click More info. Note: The warning only appears because the app is not code-signed yet.

   

4. Click Run anyway to launch the installer.

   

5. Open the installed app and click Copy URL.

   

2. Mac

1. Click Mac, then click Download.

   

2. If your browser displays a warning that it cannot scan the file, click Download anyway.

   

3. Drag Acro Local Server to the Applications folder.

   

4. In Video Integration, click the xattr link to copy the Terminal command.

   

5. Open Terminal, paste the command, and press Enter (clears the macOS quarantine flag).

   

6. Open the Acro Local Server app and click Copy URL.

   

3. Connect it to Acro Companion

Paste the copied URL into the Local Server Url field.

⚠️ Keep the Local Server running throughout the competition. If the laptop is turned off, goes to sleep, or disconnects from the Wi-Fi network, judges cannot replay videos until it becomes available again.
