Competition Video: Recording, Rewatch & Streaming using AC mobile app

1. Introduction

This guide explains how to record, replay, and livestream videos during a competition.

Acro Companion links each recorded exercise to the correct exercise, allowing judges and the public to replay videos after an exercise has finished.

There are multiple options to record the exercises:

  • Mobile device recording
  • Camera setup with OBS Studio integration (Not available yet)

Videos can be made available through:

  • Local server in the competition hall (judges only)
  • Acro Companion cloud server (public and judges)
  • YouTube livestream linked to exercises (public and judges)

Already streaming to your own YouTube channel (for example with vMix or OBS Studio)? See External livestream. It needs no Android device.

* You need an Android phone or tablet to record with a mobile device.

2. Configure it in three steps

Everything is set in Administration → Scoring Config → Video Integration.

1. Choose who can watch. Tick one or both:

Checkbox Who can watch
Public Anyone, through the Video button on live ranking, live starting order, live schedule and gymnast profiles
IRCOS Head and superior judges, through the Video button on the scoring screen

2. Choose the integration. Select Competition uses AC Mobile device integration. (Competition uses S&G media integration is a separate setup, not covered in this guide. Competition uses external livestreaming solution is covered in External livestream.)

3. Choose where the videos come from. Tick at least one option for every audience you ticked in step 1:

3. Which video plays when several options are on

Each Video button opens one video. It uses the first source below that has a video for the exercise:

Audience Order tried
Public YouTube livestream → Acro Companion cloud
Judges Local server → YouTube livestream → Acro Companion cloud

If none of them has a video, the message "No video is available for this exercise" is shown.
