General Setup

Before setting up the competition administration, make sure that you have read the Introduction chapter, especially the Administration Information and Requirements section.

1. Where to start

  1. In the sidebar, with your competition selected, click Administration.
  2. If you don't see this in the sidebar, it might be because you're not a manager for this competition.

2. General Information

2.1 Selecting Competition Levels

A Competition level is the competition class that athletes compete in.
It usually represents age, skill level, or competition category (for example: Junior, Senior, Level 5).

  1. Open the Competition levels dropdown to choose the levels for your competition.
  2. Only the selected levels will appear in the Specification Combinations table.

Note: You cannot remove a level if it is already assigned to a specification combination.

2.2 Competition Phases

A competition phase is a stage of a competition, such as, Qualifications, Semi-Finals, Finals, etc.

  1. By default, your competition includes Qualifications and Finals phases.
  2. You can remove or edit these to better align with your competition, or you can add new competition phases by clicking the Add button.

Each competition phase can have either the Qualification or Finals type. The type of each competition phase determines which tie-break rules are used during scoring.
You can also restrict phases to specific levels using the Allowed Levels column.

  1. Use the Next Competition Phases option to define which phases participants will move to after qualifying. This is important for assigning participants to the next phase on the Participant List tab.

2.3 Competition Zones

A competition zone is a separate apparatus on which a series of exercises will be performed in front of a jury.

In rhythmic competitions, there's only the floor.

To add a new zone:

  1. Click the Add button.
  2. Define the apparatus, give it a name, and enter the number of jury panels.

2.4 Creating Specification Combinations

After having selected the levels, you can move on to creating Specification Combinations.

After selecting your competition levels, you can create Specification Combinations.

A specification combination consists of:

  • Level
  • Competition phase
  • Category
  • Exercise type

Each combination must be unique in a competition.
Each combination of level, competition phase, category, exercise and pass that will be present in the competition must be defined here.

To create a combination:

  1. Open the Create Specification Combinations table.
  2. Click the Add button, to add a new line.
  3. Click each cell to select available options.
  4. To remove a combination, click the Delete button on that line.

2.5 Creating Sublevels

The Create Sublevels table holds all levels that have been split into multiple smaller groups for the competition.

Each split (sublevel) is treated as completely separate by the application. This means they are managed separately in the competition administration and ranked separately in the results.

To create sublevels:

  1. Click the Add button in the Create Sublevels table.
  2. Select a level, category, and (if applicable) apparatus.
  3. Enter the number of split levels and click Ok.

The available values will be taken from the ones that have been defined in the specification combinations table.

Split specifications are named alphabetically (A, B, C, …) when created, but the names can be edited later in the table.

You can undo the splitting of any specification by simply clicking the Delete button on the appropriate line.

3. Levels

Here you will find a selection box with all the competition phases.

  1. Select a competition phase to see all created levels from the Specification Combinations and Split Levels configurations.
  2. For each level you can set the amount of expected or planned exercises.
  • If no participants are present for this level, the number entered here will be used to create a placeholder block with the entered amount of exercises, that allows you to already build a starting order.
  1. For initial competition phases, the amount of exercises for a level and category can be automatically calculated based on the amount of participants by clicking the Wrench button in the sidebar.

For non-initial competition phases, you can also set the number of reserves. These reserves are used when calculating the number of participants who will qualify for the selected competition phase.

Note: This option only appears if Automatically calculate qualified participants for qualifying rankings is enabled in the Scoring and Ranking Configuration tab.

4. Sessions

Sessions are used to organize your competition and will serve as the basis for the starting order later.

  1. Add a new session by clicking the Add button at the top of the page.
  2. Rename and reorder sessions as needed.
  3. Once complete, click the Save button on the right side of the page to save.

5. Copy from another competition

If you manage multiple competitions in the same discipline, you can copy administration data from one competition to another:

  1. Click Copy competition administration from another competition in the General tab.
  1. In the popup, select the competition you want to copy from.
  2. Select the options you want to copy.
  1. Click Ok, then click the Save button at the bottom right of the page to save the copied data.
