Combined Rankings Setup

Before setting up the combined rankings, make sure that you have read and met all the requirements presented in the Introduction chapter, especially in the Administration Information and Requirements subchapter.

1. Where to start

  1. In the sidebar, with your competition selected, click Administration.

  2. If you do not see Administration, you may not be a manager of this competition.
    Learn how to become a manager of an organization.

  1. At the top of the page, click the Combined Rankings tab.

2. Creating a Combined Ranking Configuration

In this tab, you can configure any Combined Rankings for your competition.
A Combined Ranking merges scores in a way that is not created by default. The setup is done by defining which specification values should be included in the ranking.

To create a new Combined Ranking:

  1. Click the Add button in the top left corner of the page.
  2. A configuration popup will open.

2.1 Setting the values for the specifications

For each specification (Level, Category, Competition Phase, Exercise), you must choose one of the following options:

2.1.a 1. Rank by separate value

This creates a separate ranking for each value within the specification.

Example:
If you select Rank by separate value for Level, a separate ranking will be created for each level.

After selecting this option:

  • Leave the selection empty: rankings will be created for every value.
  • Select specific values: rankings will be created only for the selected values.

2.1.b 2. Rank all values together

This combines all values within the specification into a single ranking.

Example:
If you select Rank all values together for Level, all levels will be ranked together.
When using this option, you must also:

  • Select the level from which the tie-break rules should be applied.

2.1.c 3. Rank specific values together

This combines only certain values into one ranking.

  • Select the values in the Values to group field.
  • Add a label to describe the group (required if more than one value is selected).
    Example:
    If you apply this to Level, all selected levels will be ranked together under the specified label.

Important notes:

  • Values not selected will not be included in this Combined Ranking.
  • If only one value is selected, this option works as a filter (no label required).
  • You must also choose the level from which tie-break rules should be applied.

2.2 Setting the label

Each Combined Ranking configuration requires a label.

This label is used to identify the new Combined Ranking and is displayed only in the Combined Rankings tab and when printing the ranking.

It is not shown in other areas of the interface, unlike some existing labels (Other labels, such as level labels, are visible elsewhere in the application, for example in the live ranking.).

Note: Choose a clear and descriptive name to easily distinguish it from other rankings.

2.3 Replace Normal Ranking

2.3.a What This Option Does

When you enable Replace Default Rankings on a combined ranking, it will automatically replace the normal rankings in:

  • Scoring screens (after score approval);
  • Latest scores view (Exercise Ranking or All-Around Ranking)
  • Result book print.

Note: This does not affect live rankings.

2.3.b When to Enable It

Enable this option only if the Combined Ranking should be the main ranking shown.
Examples:

  • A combined All-Around ranking across Juniors and Seniors.
  • A combined exercise ranking for multiple levels (e.g. floor routines from all age groups).

2.3.c How It Works

The system decides whether a Combined Ranking replaces a normal ranking based on how the configuration is set. Here's how:

All-Around Rankings
A combined all-around ranking replaces an all-around ranking if each specification either:

  • Uses the same value, or
  • Includes the same values through its configuration.

This means:

  • It applies to the same competition phase;
  • It applies to the same category;
  • It either matches or includes the same level(s).

Example All-Around Rankings:

  • All-around Ranking:
    Competition phase: Qualification
    Level: Junior

    Category: Mixed
    Exercise: Floor

  • Combined Ranking:
    Competition phase: Qualification
    Level: All Levels (or a group that includes Junior)

    Category: Mixed
    Exercise: Floor

In this case, the combined ranking replaces the all-around ranking and any other rankings within the same category/phase.

2.3.d Exercise Rankings

Depending on the scoring screen settings, replacement works slightly differently:

Case 1: Exercise rankings are not shown on the scoring screen

  • The logic is the same as for all-around rankings.

Case 2: Exercise rankings are shown on the scoring screen (or an exercise ranking is triggered manually)
A combined ranking will replace a normal one if:

  • The exercise type and pass match exactly;
  • All other settings (phase, level, category) either match or include the same values.

3. Editing a Combined Ranking Configuration

Click the Edit button for any Combined Ranking configuration, as shown in the image below, to change the settings for that configuration.

4. Deleting a Combined Ranking Configuration

Click the Delete button for any Combined Ranking configuration, as shown in the image below, to remove that configuration.

After adding all the information on this tab, click on the Save button on the right side of the page.
