Creating Starting Order

Before creating the competition starting order, make sure you have:

  • Read and met all the requirements presented in the Introduction chapter, especially in the Administration Information and Requirements.
  • Configured all the competition information in the General Setup.

Also, be sure to complete all the necessary steps to set up the Participant Lists in the chapter "Managing Participant Lists" and all it's prerequisites.

1. Where to start

  1. In the sidebar, select your competition and click Administration.
  2. If you don’t see this option, you may not be a manager for this competition.

1.1 Starting Order

Before creating the Starting Order, make sure to first add and configure all the competition information.

Learn how to do this here.

  1. Select the session you want to work on from the dropdown below the tabs.
  1. If your competition has multiple competition zones, they will appear side by side.

1.2 Adding rotations to the Starting Order

A rotation is a group of participants performing together in a session and zone.

  1. Click the Add button in the competition zone where you want to add a rotation.
  1. Enter a name for the rotation.
You can also add an optional date, and start/end times. This will be used to display a public schedule with the timing of each rotation.

By default, the same date and time will be applied to the rotation at the same position across all other apparatuses. To apply times independently per apparatus, click the don't apply to all button to disable this behaviour.

  1. The rotation will be added to the starting order for the selected competition zone.
  1. You can later rename, expand, or delete rotations as needed.

1.3 Adding blocks to the Starting Order

A block is a collection of exercises within a rotation, grouped by level/category/exercise.

  1. Expand the rotation to show the panels for that competition zone.
  2. Click the Add button on the appropriate panel.
  1. Select the combinations of level, category, exercise, and pass you want to include that competition zone.
  1. Confirm to add the block to the rotation.
  2. Blocks can be removed by clicking the button next to them.

Repeat this process for all the blocks you want to add until all blocks are included in the rotation, competition zone, and session.

1.4 Changing the order of blocks in a Rotation

After one or more blocks have been placed in a rotation, it's possible to change their order.

  • Drag and drop blocks within a rotation to reorder them.
  • This will regroup all the exercises by block for the altered panel.

1.5 Changing the order of exercises in a Rotation

After one or more blocks have been placed in a rotation, it's possible to change the order of the exercises. This can be done in two ways.

1.5.a 1. Order exercises manually

You can change the order of exercises by dragging and dropping the exercise you want to move within the panel.

1.5.b 2. Order exercises by presets

Alternatively, you can change the order of exercises for an entire block using presets by clicking the Sort button.

This activates Sort Mode, in which you must select the block(s) whose exercises you want to sort. Only blocks that belong to the same rotation panel pair can be selected.

  • If you select one block, only the exercises in that block will be sorted; all other blocks remain unchanged.
  • If you select multiple blocks, the exercises from those blocks are treated as a single list and sorted together.

The selected block(s) are highlighted. To choose how the exercises should be sorted, click the Sort button in the sidebar again.

This opens a dialog where you can choose from the following presets:

  • Switch Halves: Moves the second half of the exercises in the block before the first half.
  • Invert: Reverses the order of all exercises in the block.
  • Shift Up: Moves the first 1–5 exercises to the bottom of the block while preserving their order.
  • Alternating: Alternates exercises between each selected block while keeping the internal order of each block.
  • Reset: Reverts any changes and restores the exercise order as defined in the Participant List.

1.6 Exercise Actions

To view the actions available for an exercise, click the arrow to expand the exercise.

1.6.a Score button

  1. Click Score to open the Chief Judge scoring screen for the selected exercise.
  2. From this screen, you can:
  • View the score;
  • Edit the score;
  • Resubmit the score (if necessary).

You can only access this screen if your competition is using the Acro Companion scoring system.

1.6.b ABS, DSQ, and DQB buttons

The ABS, DSQ, and DQB buttons allow you to manage a partnership's competition status directly from the starting order.

For information about each status, when to use it, and how to re-enable a gymnast, see the Managing Non-Competing Gymnasts chapter.
